Sign upThe calculator follows an international run from the rate in euros to the last hryvnia in the company account — and shows what share of the freight each cost item takes.
Why an international run is counted differently
A domestic run fits into one currency and one tax rate. This one does not:
- Freight in euros. Everything turns on the national bank rate for the day, which also converts half the costs into hryvnias.
- Zero-rated VAT. International carriage creates no VAT liability, so the tax paid on Ukrainian fuel and repairs stays as an accumulated credit instead of being offset against revenue.
- Fuel on both sides of the border. Ukrainian diesel carries a tax credit; EU diesel does not — that tax was paid abroad.
- Two countries, two norms. Per diem and parking are counted separately at home and abroad.
What the calculator accounts for
Fuel in Ukraine and in the EU
Litres are entered separately for each fill. The calculator works out how much fuel the run needs from the rated consumption and checks it against what was actually filled. If the two disagree, it says so instead of quietly carrying on.
AdBlue
Consumption per 1000 km multiplied by the mileage gives the amount the run needs; its price gives the cost.
Depreciation and repairs
A share of the freight covering repairs, servicing and the unforeseen costs of the road. The toggle decides whether VAT is split out of that sum into the credit or the whole amount leaves the account.
Driver pay and per diem
A share of the freight, the military levy with income tax, the social contribution, and per diem — at the domestic rate for days at home and the European rate for days abroad.
Insurance, parking, tolls
The motor policy is annual, so only its share falls on the run: the premium is divided by the number of runs in a year. Green Card, cargo insurance, parking, customs terminal fees and road tolls each get their own line.
The column all of this is for
Every cost item carries its share of the freight. That is what shows where the money actually goes: fuel takes almost 29 %, the driver with taxes and per diem over 24 %, and less than a third of the rate stays in the account.
Example: 5000 km for 7000 euros
| Figure | Value |
|---|---|
| Rate for the run | €7,000 |
| Central bank rate | 43.491 |
| Revenue in hryvnias | UAH 304,437.00 |
| Revenue per kilometre | UAH 60.89 |
| Fuel, Ukraine and the EU | UAH 87,880.08 — 28.87 % |
| Driver with taxes and per diem | UAH 74,045.13 — 24.32 % |
| Total costs | UAH 208,145.26 — 68.37 % |
| Balance after costs | UAH 96,291.74 |
| Profit tax at 18 % | UAH 17,332.51 |
| Net profit | UAH 78,959.23 |
| VAT balance | UAH 13,740.62 |
| Profitability of the run | 31.63 % |
| Cost per kilometre | UAH 41.63 |
The gap between UAH 60.89 earned per kilometre and UAH 41.63 spent on it is the margin the whole trip abroad is for.
Common questions
Why does EU diesel carry no tax credit
Because the tax on it was paid in another country. It has nothing to do with the Ukrainian VAT balance, so the credit column shows a dash next to European fuel.
Why is the VAT balance positive if the rate is zero
That is exactly why. International freight raises no liability, and the VAT paid in Ukraine on fuel and repairs does not disappear — it stays as a credit that can be offset or refunded.
How is the motor policy counted
The policy is annual, the cost is one-off. The calculator divides the premium by the number of runs in a year: UAH 5,000 over 24 runs is UAH 208.33 per run.
Why check the litres filled
Because it is the most common typo. If the run needs 1,500 litres by the norm and the fields say 1,000 and 300, the calculation comes out cheaper than reality — and the rate looks better than it is.
Where are the calculations stored
In your browser. The form remembers a draft, and Save keeps a snapshot among the last five, from which a run can be restored or deleted. Nothing is sent to a server.
